THE DANCE OF DEATH

On Mount Sinai as Moses received God’s “road map” for His people, the mixed multitude in the desert below created their own god -- a golden calf. The throng exploded in an orgy of idolatry, as they cried out, “This is your god, O Israel” (Exodus 32:4). Some threw off their clothes as others feasted, offered animal sacrifices, played and danced before their idol.  This is one of the Bible’s most graphic and alarming pictures of the life and death battle between the word of God and the manifestation of the character of evil. Joshua cried out to Moses that it was the “noise of war” (v.17). But Moses said it was the “sound of singing,” as the people had been seduced by the song of Satan, and begun a dance of death.

Israel’s New Dance of Death

Today we see an increasing number of political “dancing” partners cavorting upon the Land of Israel, and around their golden calves of secular humanism, political ambition, good intentions. They are dancing upon God’s Land which they plan to cut up in quest of a false peace. The partners have changed over the years, but it’s the same old dance.

Who Is Invited to the Dance?

Today’s dancing partners include President Shimon Peres, Israel ’s elderly false prophet of national delusion, who shared a Nobel Peace Prize with Yasser Arafat, the godfather of modern terrorism. Mr. Peres imagines a “New Middle East” of eternal brotherhood between Israel and Islam.  After the debacle of last summer’s Hizballah war, Ehud Olmert is the most unpopular Prime Minister in Israel ’s history. He inherited his position when Ariel Sharon left the dance floor shortly after pulling Israel out of Gaza, which is now referred to as “Hamastan.”  Olmert is desperate for a “peace deal” in an attempt to restore his sinking career.

Foreign Dancers

Foreign dance partners include Tony Blair who has joined the dance in an attempt to rescue his reputation. Lead dancer, Condoleeza Rice (a born-again believer) recently stated on Arabic TV that Israel must give up the West bank (biblical Judea and Samaria). The hired musicians for the dance are the famous “Quartet.” They play their hit tunes, such as, “The Road Map,” “Peace Partners,” “The Peace Process,” and the ever popular “Land For Peace.”

Deadly Dancing Partners

U.S. President George W. Bush decided to invite to the dance Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who wrote a graduate thesis in Moscow questioning the Holocaust. So the Olmert government dances with impotent, blood-drenched Fatah, once again. More money per capita has been given to the PA than was provided for war-torn Europe by the U.S. Marshall Plan after World War II. Where are the hospitals, clinics, infrastructure? The Palestinian people know that millions of euros and U.S. dollars went to Arafat, Abbas, and their corrupt hierarchy of Islamic mafia – and, of course, to purchase thousand of weapons.

Major terrorist leaders, mass murderers with their hands dripping with Israeli blood, are now sent invitations to leave their dens in Damascus and join the deadly dance in Ramallah. Hamas has not been issued an invitation yet, but the bloody dance floor will be theirs for the taking if Israel pulls out of Judea and Samaria, the biblical “mountains of Israel .”  

The nations who are pressuring Israel toward national suicide will be severely judged by the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel . So will Israel for willingly joining the dance.

While this assortment of dancers attempt to divide up the Land which God has covenanted to His people Israel, the Iranian beast chuckles in the shadows, as it feverishly develops the power to “wipe Israel off the map.” And the “Quartet” plays on.

The Dance of Life

I take great comfort in the fact that, “The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing.” God has another vision for Israel , and “the counsel of the Lord stands forever” (Psalm 33: 10-11). There is coming a joyous celebration of new life in Jesus, danced upon the mountains of Israel , as Jews and Arabs rejoice in their Messiah. The dance has already begun. The Lord says to Israel :

“I have loved you with an everlasting love… O virgin of Israel ! You shall again be adorned with your tambourines, And shall go forth in the dances… Sing with gladness for Jacob And shout among the chief of the nations; Proclaim, give praise, and say, ‘O Lord, save Your people, The remnant of Israel !’ ”

(Jeremiah 31:3-4, 7).
