"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden" (Mt. 5:14).

Located on top of Mount Carmel, the Or HaCarmel ("Light of Carmel") Ministry Center is a residential community established upon faith in God’s word and the power of His Spirit to transform lives. The goal of the center is to be a demonstration of God’s love to the people of Israel and to impart an understanding of His sovereign purposes to the nations. "I will also make You a light of the nations so that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth" (Is. 49:6).

At Or HaCarmel, our staff is dedicated to building up the community and to serving others as they live and grow together. Since its beginning in 2002, the center has become a place for the development and launching of new projects and areas of service to those in need. Among them are the Dor Elisha (Elisha Generation) Internship—a residential mentoring program for young men, a shelter for women and children in crisis situations, and a club that offers English instruction and character-building activities to young people in the surrounding villages.

Or HaCarmel is also the headquarters for the Mount Carmel School of Ministry (www.mountcarmelsom.com), a 12-day intensive study tour of Israel for believers from various nations. We have seen many lives impacted by their experience in Israel and interaction with the residents of our community.
